- Part 3 of Ultimate Adventure 2018. On Day Four of the Ultimate Adventure we packed up camp and headed for the next trail through quaint New England town, crossing rivers via covered wooden bridges and dirt roads passing ancient Revolution War era cemeteries before arriving in Brattleboro, Vermont, to ‘wheel the Crazy 8s trail with the Easter 4 Wheelers club. The conditions were slick, requiring lots and lots of throttle-down, smoky-tire-speed, and momentum to make it through. We had fullsizes and 4x4s bouncing off the rev limiters and the bumpstops all afternoon long and then it was time to air back up and keep heading on to the next adventure. Day Five began in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, in a crazy downpour. After a soaking wet driver’s meeting we pulled out of town en route to the Sawmill trail, which lies on 240 acres of private land in Connecticut used by the Eastern 4 Wheelers club. We promptly proceeded to break parts and sling slop. With a jungle canopy above and gooey mud-covered rocks and roots below, we ended the day on the trail, arriving at camp in Ellensville, New York just before evening set. That orange double-ended Jeep passed me a couple Sunday mornings ago on the I-10 freeway heading west out of Phoenix. It was doing around 75-80.

I keep forgetting how green it is back there. I've been in the desert too long.
My goal in life is to be doing something for a living in which I could afford to build a high-dollar rig like some of these, the tools and garage and knowledge to do so, and have a job in which I could take off 2 weeks for something like this. I think if I LS swapped my LJ Rubicon and beefed axles, frame, and suspension so it could run 37s+ I'd be close.
Lots of times the low buck rigs are the funner ones

@@loganpardon Nope, staff editors pick the invited readers; the public really isn't involved with the selection process. If you want to be a part of it, build something and apply. You never know what the editors are looking for from year to year.
Oh okay cool, i thought I remember it saying in the magazine cast your vote online to decide who goes etc between these 8 readers, and it had a page on each reader.
I'm hoping to get a group of friends together where we do something like this once a year! And each person takes turns planning it so it can be a surprise adventure for everyone.

Anyone know where I can get more details on the trails at “The Saw Mill” and how I can plan a trip up there? Maybe a website or link. Can’t seem to find anything online. Ellensville is much closer to nyc then AAOA or RC

Wheeling out East for the everyday person is virtually non-existent. Imagine having to figure out how to wheel on private property. It sucks and it’s ridiculous. So thankful to be out west now.

Driver's Meeting
The bigger of the two covered bridges looks like the bridge between Cornish NH and Windsor Vt. Which is about 20 miles or so away from where I live.

This UA seemed pretty dull compared to previous years videos.
Wheeling and 4 wheeling: really dont wanna have to give this feedback.... it just sounds so daft. If you were 2 wheeling would you be in a car or on a motorcycle? If you are in any vehicle with wheels you'd be wheeling right. Also wheeling is a verb that means to turn about.
Baffles me how badly some of these rigs suspensions preform. It’s almost as if they just chopped up some tubing and welded it on any which way an called it a day !!!! Ridiculous
Take note: THESE ARE RIGS. Your truck or SUV is NOT a rig simply because you put larger tires on it with bolted on suspnension lifts. That’s all, Carry-on.
